As its theme indicates Domesticity deals with my interpretation of what the Fremont or Anasazi peoples daily life preoccupations might have been. Were they farmers? Was communal living a part of their lives? What mattered to them? What guided their lives?
I explored this theme using symbols that were of importance to them as well as actual, stylized rock art figures and animals from the Fremont or Anasazi period from A.D. 300 to A.D. 1350. The Anasazi lived in the Four Corners area in elaborate village sites such as those found in Mesa Verde and Chaco Canyon while the Fremont settled to agricultural life and lived in pit houses. This composite of daily life includes the physical as well as the spiritual realm I imagine might have been of importance to them.
